Too much trouble to get started

This toy has a ton of plastic pieces that have to be disconnected in a particular order. It’s supposed to be for a 8 year old and up. I got it for my 11 year old for Christmas and it’s New Year’s Eve and he still hasn’t taken the time to play with this. I wouldn’t recommend unless your kid has a lot of patience.
